Splash Pad at Booker T. Washington Community Center
About this splash pad
Four years of fundraising went into making the Splash Pad at Booker T. Washington Community Center a reality, and it opened in 2019 right there in Terre Haute, Indiana, at the corner of 13th and College Streets. The community effort kicked off in 2015, and when the ribbon was finally cut, families got spouting water features and rocking buckets that tip and drench kids when they fill up. It's free and open to the public, serving both neighborhood families and kids enrolled in summer programs through Chances and Services for Youth (CASY), who operate it in partnership with the center. The splash pad sits inside Washington Park at 1101 South 13th Street, so there's a playground, a shelter, and a basketball court right there when you need to round out the afternoon. As of June 2026, local news confirmed it's still up and running as an active option for Terre Haute families.
