Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 18, 2026
FindSplashPads.com ("we," "us," "our") operates a directory of publicly available information about splash pads across the United States. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit findsplashpads.com, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
Contact form. If you use our Contact form, we collect your email address, the message you send, an optional name, and an optional category selection. An email address and message are required so we can respond; your name is optional.
Add a Park form. If you submit a splash pad for us to add to the directory, we collect the park's name, city, and state, plus any additional details you choose to provide (address, zip code, notes). You may optionally include your name and email if you'd like us to follow up, but this isn't required to submit a listing.
Accounts. You can create a free account to submit reviews and photos. Creating an account requires an email address and password, which we store securely through our authentication provider, Supabase. We also store basic session data to keep you signed in. We don't require an account to browse listings, use the Contact form, or submit a new park via Add a Park.
Reviews and Photos. If you're signed in, reviews and photos you submit are associated with your account. New accounts' first review or photo is held for manual review before it appears publicly; once you have an approved submission with no rejections, later ones may publish automatically. We may remove any submission that violates our content guidelines.
Both forms are open to anyone, with no account or login required.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and similar patterns). Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information and may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited. We don't use this information to identify you personally. You can learn more at Google's own privacy policy, and you can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to respond to Contact form messages, review and add submitted listings to the directory, and understand overall site usage so we can improve it. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for anything beyond what's described here.
Who Can Access Your Information
Information submitted through our forms is stored securely and is only accessible to site administrators. It is never publicly visible, and no other visitor can read, search, or access what you submit.
Third-Party Services
Google Maps. Listing pages include an embedded Google Map for directions. When a map loads, Google may collect information according to its own privacy policy, independent of this one.
Google Analytics. See above.
Google AdSense. We use Google AdSense to display ads on this site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more, and opt out of personalized advertising, at Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or Google's page on how information from sites using its services is used (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).
Cookies
In addition to cookies set by Google Analytics, Google AdSense may set cookies for ad personalization once ads are active on this site.
Children's Privacy
FindSplashPads.com is a general-audience site intended for parents and caregivers. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll remove it.
Your Choices
You can decline to submit personal information to us, though this may limit features like receiving a reply to a message. You can opt out of Google Analytics using the link above or your browser's privacy settings.
If you're a California resident, you may have additional rights regarding the personal information we collect. Reach out through our Contact form to make a request.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the site adds new features (accounts, reviews, photo uploads). We'll update the effective date above when we do.
