Ronald Kirk Bridge

About this splash pad

Ronald Kirk Bridge carries a splash park across the Trinity River on a repurposed 1930s roadway, once known as the Continental Avenue Bridge before a $10 million renovation reopened it as a pedestrian-only span in 2014. Renamed in 2016 for Dallas's first African-American mayor, the bridge connects downtown Dallas to West Dallas and the Trinity Groves restaurant district on the far side. Beyond the splash park, it has a playground, a life-sized chess board, checkers tables, a bocce ball court, and shaded lounge seating under a cloth canopy, with sweeping views of the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and the downtown skyline. Free to visit, open daily 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., as part of the city's Trinity River Project.
