Freetown Splash Pad

About this splash pad

Freetown's splash pad comes paired with a wading pool right next to it, about 1.5 feet deep and staffed with lifeguards on duty, which is a setup you don't see at every splash pad. The surrounding park has grills, picnic tables, and open grass, so packing a lunch and settling in for a few hours is very doable. One thing worth knowing before you go: the woods bordering the area mean you'll want to bring both sunscreen and bug spray. Also worth a heads-up on the water features themselves: some reviewers note the splash pad is now simpler than it used to be, with flat-surface sprinklers rather than the mushroom fountain and more varied features it had previously. With that in mind, it's best suited for toddlers and kids under 10. Free-ranging older kids may find it on the smaller side.
