Belk-Tonawanda Park Splash Pad
About this splash pad
Gated splash pads are rarer than you'd think, and the one at Belk-Tonawanda Park in Monroe, North Carolina is exactly that. Reviewers consistently mention the gate as a relief, and it's easy to see why: kids can run without bolting, and you can actually exhale. One thing worth knowing before you go: the water features are button-activated, so if everything looks dry when you arrive, find the button. Restrooms, picnic tables, and a sheltered eating area are all on-site. The one tradeoff is that shaded seating around the splash pad itself is limited, so a hat and sunscreen are smart calls. Open Tuesday through Sunday, 10am to 7pm, with Mondays closed for maintenance. Free to visit.
